An exhibition at the Haus der Statistik- Berlin during Covid. Together with refugee minors CargoCult Space has played the showcase rooms with the impressions collected in the rural reception centers outside Berlin in Brandenburg and processed together. Giuliana Kiersz was guest author and summarized her impressions in a poem.
i don’t know what to do and I think: what’s a community?
what’s a community?
i don’t kow what to do and I think: what’s a community?
we arrive
to a family
to a question
to nowhere
we arrive
and i don’t know what to do
what i’m suppoused to be doing?
we arrive
and have dinner together
and talk about romeo and juliet
and that’s all i understand
romeo and juliet
there’re some stories we’ve heard
that stick with us
because we like them
because we don’t
because that’s how it’s suppoussed to be
and i wonder
what’s a community?
the light on the tree?
the cat of the neighbour?
this emptiness?
i don’t know what to do
and i go to sleep
not knowing
and i wake up
not knowing
and i walk around not knowing
and i enter a room
and started sewing
because that’s what i do
that’s primarily what i do
i don’t write
i don’t think
i sew and talk
talk about my grandfather who was a taylor
and how i know
how to sew
before knowing
and we talk
and we sew
and we dance
and i can’t understand
what i hear
but i can
be here.
